Aftermath Gaming Club : Tournaments : Blood Bowl

We held our third Bloodbowl tournament - and the club's first two-day event - over the weekend of 24th/25th September 2011.

Congratulations to Steve Chambers who was the overall winner (repeating his 2009 success).

As you can see from the final table, this was a very closely fought tournament with most of the prizewinners being decided by the final round of games.:

Prizewinners
Overall Champion Steve Chambers
2nd Place Overall Barry Pitcher
3rd Place Overall Joseph Pym
Best Coach
Based on match results alone, Barry's 4-2-0 record made him the clear winner.
Barry Pitcher
Best Painted Team
John won a custom pitch as a reward for his excellent painting.
John McPhillips
Tournament M.V.P.
Joseph's #11 scored 9 touchdowns and 1 casualty - a kill! Next best was Andrew's #2 with 21 SPP from 7 touchdowns.
Joseph Pym
S.Ch.Wi.N.G. Award
This award is for the most "illegal" casualties. Steve Chambers also scored 5 but Sam's casualties were more severe.
Sam Griffiths
Most Offensive Team
Barry scored 18 touchdowns over his 6 games. Steve scored 15 to come second in this category.
Barry Pitcher
Most Violent Team
4 deaths, 3 serious injuries and 5 less severe injuries - worth 35 points - sealed this award for Alan. He scored a death and a serious injury in the final game to overtake Art, who'd been leading this category for most of the tournament.
Alan Jaggs
Most Injured Team
Those poor, poor halflings suffered 7 deaths, 2 serious injuries and 21 lesser injuries (many of which were self-inflicted), earning them 62 points. Gareth narrowly missed out after suffering 60 points' worth of casualties.
Emrys Hopkins
Best Comeback
This award was for the team which did best after losing their first game. Alan didn't lose again and rose 10 places up the table. James was next best, rising 6 places.
Alan Jaggs
Sunday Best
For the team which rose highest up the table on Sunday. James got this consolation (for missing out on Best Comeback) by rising 5 places, pipping Alan (who only rose 4 places on the second day).
James Farrell
Worst Stamina
For the team which fell furthest down the table on Sunday. Art's orcs fell 5 places. Emrys's halflings would have fallen further but hit rock bottom after falling 4 places.
Arthur Burns
The Ladle of Timber
Last place. They were halflings - what did you expect? Art avoided the ultimate shame by a mere 2 points, though. 2 points! That's a moral victory for the 'flings.
